Brendan Rodgers is getting a bit of a reputation for his inspiring team chats before big Celtic games.
The Hoops boss has been recorded in a Celtic documentary last season giving a rousing dressing room speech just before the first top-six split game against Hearts at Celtic Park.
Rodgers gave his Celtic players an inspirational talk just before beating Rangers in the Scottish Cup final and it seems that whatever buttons the Parkhead boss presses with his players, it is working.
The Celtic boss was speaking after beating Aberdeen at Hampden yesterday and shared what he told his players in the dressing room that clearly inspired them to the 6-0 win.
Rodgers tells Celtic players ‘we decide’ how the game vs Aberdeen is going to go
Rodgers told Celtic TV, “I said to the players before the game that there are two things that are factual before the game right?
“It’s going to be a brilliant atmosphere. Two teams doing great, the best teams in the country at this moment in time playing so it’s going to be a really, really good atmosphere.
“The second fact was it’s going to kick off at 5:30 in the dark. Everything else after that we decide.
“We decide how we play, how we work, how we run, the quality of our play and the players did that.
“So yeah, it’s just preparing like it’s your first time always here and obviously we have an obligation to fight for trophies and we give ourselves a chance here in mid-December now.”
Celtic’s next two fixtures will require more Brendan Rodgers magic
Celtic can now look forward to their next two fixtures safe in the knowledge that they have another date at Hampden booked.

However, RB Leipzig awaits Rodgers in the Champions League and then after that it’s back to league duty with Kilmarnock at Celtic Park.
If Rodgers can safely negotiate two wins from these two fixtures not only will he keep Celtic’s unbeaten domestic record going, but he will also take the Hoops one step closer to getting out of the league phase of UEFA’s top competition.
And for that, one of Rodgers’ famous speeches will need to hit the mark as the Bundesliga side will prove to be a tough opposition at Celtic Park.
