UEFA get in on the Celtic hype

It’s been a good week to be a Celtic supporter. The positive feeling has definitely returned to the Bhoys after a couple of morale-boosting away wins and a convincing performance at home to Ferencvaros in the UEFA Europa League.

It didn’t hurt that the team scored a wonder goal either. Jota’s pass to Kyogo combined with the Japanese’s touch and finish has been the talk of Celtic supporters all week long. You can barely escape the footage even this afternoon, despite now being 3 days removed from the fixture.

And now UEFA are getting in on the action too, sharing multi-angle footage of the stunning effort with their 8.7m followers on Twitter.

Jota and Kyogo are certainly making waves since joining Celtic. The Portuguese winger is being hyped up by Benfica supporters and the Japanese forward is increasingly a hero in his homeland.

Highlights like this, spreading around Europe, won’t do their profiles any harm at all. As we know, hype only benefits Celtic down the line when it becomes time to move on players for a decent fee.

It’s too early to entertain letting go of this duo of course. In fact, Celtic still need to manoeuvre to get Jota signed up on a permanent basis. However, given he is enjoying his football and the club have an option-to-buy, the odds are looking good on that.

The smart money would be on both players adding to their direct goal contribution totals tomorrow against St Johnstone, whether it be assists or goals that get Celtic supporters cheering.

With these two on red hot form, Ange Postecoglou’s side will be difficult to stop.

In other news, Ange confirms 2 injury returns for Celtic vs St Johnstone tomorrow.
