Celtic have a date with Hampden to look forward to after beating Hibs in the Scottish Cup quarter-final at Parkhead.
The 2-0 win keeps Brendan Rodgers on track for another Celtic treble and his impressive Scottish Cup 20-game unbeaten run intact.
Goals from Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah secured Celtic’s win over Hibs and as the Japanese winger’s new Parkhead song steals the limelight, it was what happened at Adam Idah’s goal that Celtic fans might have missed.
Luke McCowan’s Celtic celebration vs Hibs captured perfectly
Celtic’s Unique Angle cameras often give fans a different perspective of the action and goals and a great insight to how the players react that could often be missed on the day.
And as Idah turned away to celebrate with the Celtic supporters, Luke McCowan’s reaction was captured perfectly by the camera behind the Hibs goal.
McCowan helped set up the goal that made sure of Celtic’s place in the Hampden semi-final so it is little wonder he was overjoyed at the strike.
Brendan Rodgers ‘doesn’t lose sleep’ over Adam Idah’s goal record at Celtic
Idah’s late goal was the Irishman’s 14th goal in 43 appearances for Celtic and whilst Rodgers was delighted with the strike, the Hoops manager admits he’s not worried with his striker’s scoring rate.
Rodgers told the Daily Record, “It doesn’t really matter to me. I don’t lose sleep if the striker’s not scoring, to be honest.
“For me, there’s a responsibility to everyone in the team. But it’s absolutely great if those guys that are paid to score goals and create goals are doing it. Daizen’s anticipation for the first goal is incredible, really.
“The ground he makes up in such a short space, if you look at when he moves, the distance in such a short space he makes over the centre-half to get the finish was great. Then Adam coming in, I know what he can bring. He can bring goals.
“He can give us that physicality when we need it. We could have had a few more in the last 10 minutes.
“Does it give me a selection headache ahead for the Rangers game? No. There’s no headache. I sleep well. I sleep very well. I know the players have been great. I’ll pick what I think is the best team and then know that at some point we’ll need other players to come into the game.”
With two strikers heading into the Rangers game now full of confidence, it’s little wonder Rodgers is not a worried Celtic manager.
He knows that whoever he picks to start the big Glasgow Derby, Rodgers has another option available to him that can help get the win over his city rivals.
