Video: Celtic hero Chris Sutton winds up Ally McCoist about Ange Postecoglou hug; toys out the pram promised
Celtic hero Chris Sutton has been having a bit of fun at Ally McCoist’s expense on BT Sport today, winding him up about being caught on camera hugging manager Ange Postecoglou.
A picture of the two embracing before Celtic’s win at Ibrox went viral last weekend with Rangers supporters none too happy with his familiarity with the Bhoys boss.
BT Sport posted a clip of their appearance together on Scottish Football Extra tonight, with host Darrell Currie promising that ‘toys are out of the pram’ after their back and forth in tonight’s programme.
We’ll have to wait on the full programme to see if sparks truly fly. We can probably guess that McCoist isn’t having the best of weeks.
Not only did Rangers lose to Celtic on Sunday but their Europa League dreams are hanging by a thread after losing 1-0 to Portuguese side Braga last night.
With a tough trip away to St Mirren to come this weekend, it’s a precarious time for his old club and manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Celtic have to stay focused on their own work. A visit from St Johnstone tomorrow at Celtic Park will be tricky given they are fighting for their Premiership lives.
The Bhoys need to show the same focus and determination that ground out the win at Ibrox. A title win, and a potential treble, would really leave the likes of McCoist reeling at the end of the season.
Given he was one of the prominent pundits laughing at Ange when he first arrived int Scotland, that would be sweet satisfaction beyond the glory of the silverware itself.
