Video: Tom Rogic's final Celtic training session
Tom Rogic was all smiles as he bowed out of Lennoxtown training today, telling the Celtic TV cameras ‘Last time!’ on his way to his final session.
The club have posted footage of Rogic and his teammates being put through their paces for the last time this season, ahead of an emotional trophy day tomorrow.
It’s their first since becoming champions too, having been given the Thursday off following Wednesday night’s celebrations that went into the wee hours outside Celtic Park.
Alongside Rogic’s goodbye to the cameras, the video shows Ange Postecoglou pulling together the champions for a team discussion before the hard work starts. You can see it via this link, or embedded below.
Nir Bitton couldn’t be seen in the footage so whether he’s again nursing an injury or just preparing for his exit is unknown. I’m sure he’ll be at Celtic Park tomorrow to receive his own adulation.
Both Rogic and Bitton have been huge parts of the Celtic squad for close to a decade and it’s going to be sad seeing them leave.
However, it’s also an opportunity to send them off with love and respect. We’ve seen too many times in football that it doesn’t always happen like that.
Going out on top is so hard to do and ultimately the players have picked their moment to say goodbye and do exactly that.
That the club have agreed suggests that Postecoglou has big plans for the Celtic midfield too, meaning there should be a feeling of excitement about what’s ahead for all parties.
What a duo. What a season. It threatens to only get better from here.
