The Celtic fans are excited now that Brendan Rodgers has made his first summer signing before taking the team to the USA for the Summer Tour.

The trip will give the young Finnish ‘keeper the chance to meet and bond with his new Celtic teammates as he looks to settle in and get to grips with being part of such a huge club.

But it seems that Sinisalo has already been given the lowdown on the club as the new Hoops recruit shares what Gary Caldwell had told him about Celtic before he made the Parkhead switch.

How Sinisalo was sold on ‘wonderful’ Celtic

Sinisalo spent a season on loan at Caldwell’s Exeter City and made 50 appearances. So when the chance to join Celtic came up, who better to ask about the club than the man who won two league titles, a Scottish Cup and a League Cup in Paradise?

Sinisalo said [Celtic FC], “Exeter is a brilliant football club and I can’t speak highly enough about it.

“I went in there as a young goalkeeper and played 50 games of men’s football which is really important at such a young age. I learned a lot.

“There were a lot of positives that came from that and the thing is, without Exeter, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here now.

“Without Gary Caldwell, I wouldn’t be sitting here now. He’s only had good things to say about Celtic. I spoke to him and he said I’m joining a wonderful football club, I’ll be looked after and it’s special.

‘I know it’s a huge football club and it’s really exciting to be part of something so big.”

With Celtic said to have paid around £1m for Sinisalo, it seems that Brendan Rodgers could have unearthed a gem after Caldwell tipped the young ‘keeper to have an ‘incredible career‘.

The reaction of the Aston Villa fans to his Parkhead move has also caused a bit of a stir as they believe the club has made a mistake in letting him go.

Now a new Bhoy, Sinisalo can hopefully look forward to a long and prosperous future at Celtic after being handed a five-year deal by the club.
