Liam Scales was the first Celtic player to front up to the cameras after the Europa League defeat to Stuttgart this week.

The Celtic defender endured a tough night at Parkhead after Stuttgart fired in four Celtic Park goals in a Europa League hammering Scales didn’t enjoy.

And speaking to TNT Sports afterwards, the Irishman made no excuses for Celtic’s collapse to Stuttgart as Scales lasted just 55 seconds in front of the camera.

What Liam Scales told TNT Sports after Celtic’s Stuttgart defeat

Some of the audio was difficult to make out in the interview so here is exactly what Scales told TNT Sports inside Celtic Park.

Scales told TNT Sports, “Yeah, it was difficult. I think just a tough game, but we’ll go into next week and try and get it back.

“They’re just a good side, they took their chances, and I feel like we could have a couple more as well. You know, I think we were unfortunate with the score line, but the performance wasn’t there?”

TNT: “Are you disappointed with the goals conceded tonight? Were they almost too soft for this level?”

Scales: “Yeah, always disappointed to concede goals.”

TNT: “Is this tie still salvageable from your point of view?”

Scales: “Yeah.”

TNT: “Can you not let it derail your season?”

Scales: “It’s definitely not going to derail our season.”

TNT: “I imagine, obviously much disappointment. What will be the words in the dressing room now, as you head back in?”

Scales: “I don’t know, I have to wait and see.”

Liam Scales’ Celtic stats vs Stuttgart show why defender was upset

Scales had a tough night against Stuttgart at Celtic Park, and the defender’s stats from Fotmob show why he was so upset in front of the TNT cameras.

With little to shout about from his own performance, it’s little wonder Scales was fuming in his post-match interview.
