Read MoreWatch: Celtic-loving Timo Weah's stunning Lille goal
You can’t not love Timo Weah can you?
When’s the last time we had a player on loan for about four months who became so likable to the Celtic support?
Weah has been keen to stress how much he still loves Celtic this season. Despite losing 3-2 last week and scoring at Parkhead for Lille in the Europa League last week, he was all smiles as he expressed his adulation for us post-match (BT Sport). When he’s not been talking us up, he’s been commenting on Celtic players’ Instagrams!
He scored his first Lille goal that night. A stunning left-footed volley that took Conor Hazard by surprise. In the end, Celtic won the game 3-2 and Timo was dropped for their weekend game vs Bordeaux.
But last night he got himself more minutes and smashed home a stunning strike against Dijon. The 2-0 win ensured Lille stayed top of Ligue 1 as they remain ahead of PSG and Lyon respectively. You can view the absolute belter of a goal yourself just below:

Celtic-supporting Weah quite right to celebrate this time!
It’s fair to say that unlike his goal against Celtic, he celebrated this one! You can see the relief as he took his big chance, and it’s a huge moment for him.
His struggles since he went to Lille haven’t been documented much here in Glasgow. However, he’s had a massively tough time of it.
Last season, Weah picked up a muscle injury that kept him out for more or less the whole of the campaign. It was a huge set-back after he had only signed for Lille that summer.

This year he’s found it tricky to get minutes ahead of the expensive Jonathan David and Jonathan Ikone. But that goal against Dijon coupled with his Celtic Park strike adds up to a massive seven days for him.
It’s great to see him enjoying his football again. It’s always good to see players with such affection for the Hoops making waves in the game. Hopefully this can be the boost Weah needs to shoot himself into regular starting line-ups in France.
