Dom Thomas scored a stunning solo goal for Queen’s Park last night then unleashed an iconic Jota celebration.

The attacker, who is clearly a huge Celtic fan based on his Twitter feed, netted a sublime equaliser for The Spiders in their Championship play-off clash against Partick Thistle.

Thomas picked up the ball on the halfway line and drove at the Thistle defence before his left-footed strike snuck in.

The goalkeeping was questionable but it was still a stunning solo effort and the celebration wasn’t bad either.

As he ran over to the the travelling support at Firhill, he stopped, bowed his head and raised his right hand to the air.

The game was live on the BBC Scotland channel and you can watch the goal on the BBC Sport Scotland Twitter page.

It was a carbon copy of the celebration we have seen from Jota on several occasions this season, and that was clearly no accident.

Our first evidence of Jota’s class celebration came after his sublime chip in the 4-0 win over Rangers in September.

A few months later, he told the Scotsman: “It was something in the moment. Really, I’m serious.

“I’m just grateful for that as it was a really good moment for me. If people can look back on that moment and it brings them a bit of happiness then I’m happy as well. It’s all about the happiness.”

Partick Thistle netted a late goal to win 4-3 last night but the tie is still very much in the balance going in to Friday night’s return leg at Ochilview.

The winner will face Ayr United in the semi-final with the winner of that then facing the 11th Premiership side for a place in the top-flight next season.
