If there was ever a vast contrast in fortunes of two former Celtic strikers, nothing is quite like that of Hyeongyu Oh and Kyogo Furuhashi.
Both players had varying degrees of success at Celtic, but many would have believed that out of the two, Kyogo Furuhashi would have been the one to have gone on to achieve great success at a new club.
The Japanese striker has, so far, struggled to make any impact at Stade Rennes, whilst on the other hand, Hyeongyu Oh has been a smash at Genk.
And after the turn of events this weekend, there is only one former Celtic star who is currently going from strength to strength after their Parkhead exit.

Hyeongyu Oh is on fire as Kyogo Furuhashi struggles on after Celtic
Oh was in action for KRC Genk in their 4-0 win over Union Saint Gilloise this weekend when the former Celtic man did this.
As for Kyogo, the Hoops icon was benched again and was afforded just one minute on the park as Stade Rennes defeated Angers 3-0 in their away fixture in France’s Ligue 1.
The fortunes of both players since leaving Celtic has been bizarre, considering Kyogo was the main man who kept Oh out of the Hoops first team for two whole seasons.
Kyogo’s post-Celtic stats compared to Hyeongyu Oh
Kyogo has had a rough time of it at Rennes compared to Oh’s time in Belgium with Genk.
So how do both players’ stats match up this season so far?
| Kyogo’s stats at Rennes | Hyeongyu Oh’s stats at Genk |
| Played: 5 | Played: 33 |
| Goals: 0 | Goals: 12 |
| Assists: 0 | Assists: 2 |
| Minutes on the pitch: 113 | Minutes on the pitch: 690 |
Granted, Kyogo has just moved on from Celtic whereas Oh has had almost a full season but the Japanese striker’s future at the French club is not looking good after such a poor start at his new club.
