The Celtic support probably didn’t need an excuse to tell Kyogo how much we love him today, but they got it earlier on.

The Japanese forward, who has been a complete revelation in the Hoops, has come in for some unfair criticism in recent times.

Kyogo is a diver according to some, a dirty player according to others. Just earlier today former referee Keith Hackett said he should be fined [Football Insider].

Earlier, we spoke about the prospect of Celtic publicly backing their star striker, and the message that would send.

But in the absence of any imminent statement, Kyogo gave Hoops supporters the perfect chance to serenade him.

It’s almost as if he planned it.

Kyogo tweets and Celtic fans respond

Just around tea-time, the 26-year-old posted some photos from the summer, with the caption: “Remembering my first days in Glasgow.”

At the time of writing, the tweet has over 5,000 likes, and numerous comments from Celtic fans.

Here are the best of them for you to enjoy.

So a lot of love going about for Kyogo – and he’s earned every bit of it.

It’s hard to remember a player coming to Celtic and having such a relationship with the supporters after virtually no time at all.

Perhaps Moussa Dembele was the last player that applied to – and he arguably had to score a hat-trick against Rangers before the real love-in began.

Kyogo still has all that to look forward to.
