There were so many positives to take from Celtic’s performance against Dundee last night we could be here all day reporting on them.
From young Daniel Kelly making his big breakthrough to Hyunjun Yang pulling out an incredible performance on the right flank, there were so many things that went right in a season where so much has gone wrong.
And the timing of that couldn’t be any better.
With ten games left and two Glasgow Derbies to go, it seems now that this Celtic team is starting to click under Brendan Rodgers and there was one player in particular that blew Charlie Mulgrew away last night.
Daizen Maeda’s stunning Celtic goal
The former Celtic defender was on commentary duty last night when Maeda tucked away the fourth of seven goals and how he fashioned the opening to create the chance blew Mulgrew away.
Mulgrew said [BBC Radio Scotland], “He sent me for a pie there! What a Cruyff turn that is. He’s went to shoot with his right foot inside the box and he’s kind of Cruyff’d it and rolled it with his studs.
“Right foot and he’s just curled it with his left foot without even looking. Far away into the right-hand side of Carson’s goal.
“It’s a great goal.”

I spoke earlier this week about how Maeda can frustrate. Against Motherwell, the winger missed a gilt-edged chance to put the game to bed early as Rodgers’ side probed for a winner.
And we all know how infuriating he can be when it comes to the final ball. But last night was one of his best performances of the season as he harried the Dundee right-flank with his constant pressing and probing.
Like others in the team, Maeda will play a huge part in Celtic’s story this season and it will continue on Sunday against Hearts.
