Celtic have closed the gap to Hearts to just four points as Derek McInnes takes his side to Aberdeen this afternoon.
Jimmy Thelin is struggling in the league as Aberdeen sit in the bottom six as Celtic’s win at St Mirren puts pressure on Hearts at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Celtic beat Aberdeen at Pittodrie back in August, and now, ready to welcome Hearts, Thelin has shared what he really thinks of McInnes’ title chances.
And the Dons boss used Leicester City and the historic Swedish title win by Mjallby to make his case.

Thelin says Hearts beating Celtic to the title ‘can happen’
With plenty of games left to play and Hearts stuttering against Dundee United before the international break, Thelin thinks the Tynecastle club can challenge and even beat Celtic to the title.
Thelin told The Sunday Post, “Yes, it’s been a long time (since a non-Old F-rm winner), but things can always happen in football.
“You had Leicester City some years ago in Premier League and you have Mjallby this year in Sweden.
“No one expected that and I’m so impressed with what they have done as it is massive for them coming from a village almost and with their budget.
Poll: Will Celtic win the league?
“They have done really well for some years now recruiting young players, selling players and invested really well.
“Football evolves, the clubs evolve and you have to have the belief that it can happen. It’s difficult, but it can happen.
“You have to have these visions, dreams and ambitions otherwise there’s no way of growing.”
What McInnes said as Hearts slip-up allowed Celtic to close the gap
McInnes knows that if he slips up against Aberdeen, Celtic will be right on his coattails.
Speaking after Hearts last dropped points, McInnes went on a Celtic meltdown as he ranted about VAR and referees.
McInnes said after Hearts’ 1-1 draw with Dundee United, “We just lacked a wee bit of quality and we needed to stay calm. We were a wee bit excitable at times.
“We played last five-minute football for the majority of the second half. We just needed a wee bit more trust in what we do.
“The decisions were right from the referee, other than the three minutes injury time. That was madness.
“We were constantly speaking to him about it. There should have been more.
“If that was Celtic or Rangers at the top of the league, there would have been a lot more than three minutes I can tell you that.”
If Hearts drop more points today, Celtic fans will expect another Derek McInnes meltdown in the Granite City.
