For all of the good things going on at Celtic since the post-World Cup resumption, it has been disappointing not to see more of Sead Haksabanovic.

The Montenegrin winger, who was named Premiership Player of the Month for November, has barely featured in our last six matches due to injury.

Haksabanovic missed our clash at Pittodrie through injury before playing a combined 55 minutes against Livingston and St. Johnstone.

He was then injured again and wasn’t in the matchday squad for the games against Hibernian, Rangers and Kilmarnock.

Haksabanovic initially missed the game against Aberdeen due to a knock picked up in training.

It is not clear whether that injury is linked to the one that has seen him sit out our last three matches. But the news does seem positive.

Prior to the derby, Ange did tell the media: “He’ll probably miss Monday but we’re kind of hoping that’ll be it and he’ll be back into it.

“He’s a bit frustrated because he’s been training, but not at 100 percent, so we’ll give him a chance to get back to full fitness.” (Glasgow Live)

Ahead of the Kilmarnock game he insisted that all of Celtic’s injury absentees were further down the line in their recovery.

It’s been an intriguing injury story for supporters, as training ground incidents often are.

Amid all of the chat about Maeda, Jota, Abada and Forrest, Haksabanovic has almost become a forgotten man.

It will be great to see him back in action very soon.

In other news, the League Cup has changed since Celtic last played in it
