Chris Sutton has revealed he’s still scared of Martin O’Neill as the legendary boss is set to take in his first fixture tonight against Falkirk.

O’Neill returns to the Celtic dugout this week after being drafted in to temporarily replace the departed Brendan Rodgers this week.

At 73, O’Neill has become the oldest manager in Britain as he returns to Paradise over 20 years since he left the club in 2005.

And now, as the interim boss looks to take in Celtic’s next fixture against Falkirk, what Chris Sutton has said about being ‘scared’ of the new gaffer should serve as a warning to the current Hoops squad.

Chris Sutton explains why he is still ‘scared’ of Celtic manager Martin O’Neill

Sutton still maintains a close relationship with O’Neill even though both have been away from Celtic over the last 20 years.

And when asked who was the most scary manager he has worked under, Sutton had no hesitation on naming his former Celtic gaffer.

Sutton told The Warm Up, “Who I was scared of? And still am Martin O’Neill.

“He’s just so clever. Just don’t want to get in an argument with him. I don’t mind getting into an argument with you two [Boyd and Naismith], but Martin….”

How Martin O’Neill could line up Celtic vs Falkirk

Could Martin O’Neill revert Celtic to the 3-5-2 formation that brought him so much success first-time round at Paradise?

Our predicted Celtic XI suggests that interim boss will stick to the 4-3-3 formation for the moment.

With so many players out injured, it could be dangerous if O’Neill tinkered too much with a system that the current Celtic team are familiar with.

Should he fail to pick up all three points, O’Neill could then look to tinker for the Rangers game on Sunday.
