Celtic have broken their silence on John Kennedy’s Parkhead exit.
The former Celtic assistant manager left the club along with three others on the same night Brendan Rodgers made his swift Parkhead exit.
Kennedy has been involved in the backroom at Celtic since 2010 and now, the club have broken their silence on his departure after almost 48 hours since he left the club.
And in a statement released by Celtic, the club also announced the promotion of Stephen McManus into Martin O’Neill’s coaching team.

Celtic thank John Kennedy and three backroom staff members
In a brief statement, Celtic have offered their thanks to Kennedy, Adam Sadler, Jack Lyons and Glen Driscoll.
The statement on Celtic FC website states, “Celtic Football Club can confirm today that Assistant Manager John Kennedy, coaches Adam Sadler and Jack Lyons, and Head of Performance Glen Driscoll have left the Club with immediate effect.
“We thank each of them for their contribution to Celtic and we wish them all well for the future. “
Celtic announce promotion of Stephen McManus
And in a move to offer O’Neill more support, former Celtic B team manager Stephen McManus has been promoted to the first-team coaching staff.
The statement continues, “We are pleased to welcome former Celtic Captain Stephen McManus and former Celtic player Mark Fotheringham into our first team coaching set-up, where they will join Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney on an interim basis, alongside coaches Stephen Woods, Gavin Strachan and Greg Wallace.”
Celtic are clearly getting all their ducks in a row ahead of the appointment of the permanent manager as the Parkhead board look to bring stability behind the scenes.
