Celtic continue to toil and toil in Scotland, as Brendan Rodgers enjoys himself in the searing heat of Saudi Arabia.

For all intents and purposes, Rodgers was supposed to complete his final season as Celtic boss and put title number 56 on the table.

But the off-field mess went beyond boiling point, so he had to leave in October, and now Rodgers is in the pressure-free environment of being Al Qadsiah’s boss in the Saudi Pro League.

To nobody’s surprise, as Celtic continue to struggle, their former manager is not only enjoying himself at Al Qadsiah but also creating history.

Ex-Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers creates history at Al Qadsiah

Rodgers has now been in charge of six matches at Al Qadsiah, winning five, including against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, and drawing the other.

Added to that, it has been goals galore for Al Qadsiah, as Rodgers wrote his name into the history books on Sunday when his side thrashed Al-Hazm 5-1.

Celtic’s Treble-winning coach becomes the first man in Al Qadsiah’s history to go unbeaten in his first six games in charge. The Saudi club were founded 59 years ago.

Rodgers dubbed ‘The Godfather’

To give Rodgers’ ego an extra lift, and let’s be honest, it’s big enough as it is, he is being lauded by his new club in a way that only he would love.

To highlight the Northern Irishman’s unbeaten run, Al Qadsiah posted an image of their manager, mimicking the fictional character, Don Vito Corleone, from the movie, ‘The Godfather.’

As Celtic try to find their feet again under interim boss Martin O’Neill, look for a new coach in the summer, and see how all of that pans out, it will be interesting to see how the rest of Rodgers’ career plays out.

One thing is for sure: he won’t be returning to the Celtic Park dugout again because his history has now been written, delivered, and sealed. Two times over!
