Jeremie Frimpong continues his career at Liverpool after leaving Celtic in 2020.

Frimpong left Parkhead to join Bayer Leverkusen, to become one of Celtic’s most expensive transfer sales of all time.

After winning every domestic trophy in Germany, Frimpong joined Liverpool this summer in an incredible move to the English champions.

And after he made his Champions League debut at Anfield in the 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid, Liverpool fans were glowing about Celtic hero Frimpong and his effect on Mo Salah.

Liverpool fans say Celtic hero Jeremie Frimpong will improve Mo Salah

Frimpong’s Champions League debut with Liverpool went down a storm as he helped the Anfield club rip open Atletico Madrid in the opening 10 minutes of the match.

But it was the clear improvement in Mo Salah’s game that really grabbed the attention of the Liverpool fans as @LFCLaurie said, “Think a big reason why Salah was much better last night was because of Frimpong and the overlaps he was providing.”

That view was concurred by @ScottNO69143935 as he said, “Frimpong really unlocks Salah in this Liverpool team.”

@EKG_T9 said, “The key to getting play better the whole game is to give him a real right back. Frimpong and Salah together are devastating. They understand each other so well in just two months.”

After just four games for Liverpool, the Anfield support are already seeing what Celtic fans saw when Frimpong was tearing it up in the Scottish Premiership winning a treble in his first season.

Celtic hero Frimpong’s stats for Liverpool vs Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid are notoriously one of the hardest teams to play in the Champions League. Celtic found that out just two years ago.

Even when Liverpool were 2-0 up, the La Liga side fought back to 2-2 in a hostile Anfield and lost out due to a last-minute goal by Virgil van Dijk.

Here is how Frimpong fared according to Fotmob on his Champions League debut with the Premier League side:

Not a bad performance by the former Celtic defender, and he is only going to get better as the season goes on.
