Ange Postecoglou left quite a legacy on Scottish football following his departure from Celtic in 2023.
From getting Celtic back to their trophy-winning track after Steven Gerrard had stopped the ten, and also winning the Treble in Glasgow.
And now, the Celtic hero has left his mark on Tottenham Hotspur after their Europa League triumph on Wednesday night.
Spurs beat Manchester United 1-0 to lift the Europa League trophy, their first major honour in 17 years, and their first European silverware in over 40 years.
It was a night of pressure, tension and proving people wrong in Bilbao, as Postecoglou was at the top of that list.

What the SPFL posted on social media about Ange Postecoglou after Tottenham won the Europa League
Belief is a huge thing in sport, and Postecoglou has it in bucketloads, as he proved back in September.
The 59-year-old was under immense pressure, with shots being fired at him, so he proceeded to tell the whole world that ‘I always win in my second season’.
So, when the full-time whistle blew in Bilbao, the SPFL relayed that quote on social media of Postecoglou lifting silverware in the colours of Celtic, and in his second season.
‘Ange Postecoglou ALWAYS wins trophies in his second season, 🏆’ wrote the SPFL on social media.
How many trophies has Postecoglou won in his career?
You can add another winner’s medal to Postecoglou’s cabinet, and now he has proven why he was so popular with the Celtic fans.
It needs to be remembered that Postecoglou didn’t join Celtic when they were flying high, but on the floor, and needed rebuilding.
The Greek-born Australian did that in style, and now he has done the same at Spurs, as that trophy count looks even stronger now.
- South Melbourne – three trophies
- Australia U17 – three trophies
- Australia U20 – three trophies
- Brisbane Roar – two trophies
- Australia – one trophy
- Yokohama F. Marinos – one trophy
- Celtic – five trophies
- Tottenham – one trophy
