Celtic and Adidas are said to be releasing a special edition home kit this season.
It’s likely that the 2023/24 campaign will see the club bring out four kits once again. We’ve already had the home and away shirts unveiled, with the latter available to buy.
A third kit is likely to be displayed in the not too distant future while the special home offering is said to be coming too.
Reliable kit experts Footy Headlines are the go to when it comes to Celtic shirt updates.
Earlier this year, they shared some images of the special home shirt that will be released in addition to the newly-launched hoops.
They wrote: “The Celtic kit with the monochrome logos is not the home kit but a special-edition jersey, similar to the Scotland 150-year anniversary kit and the Italy 125-year anniversary kit.”

They report that the shirt will feature traditional green and white hoops, with the Adidas and Celtic logos white on a white background, making them almost invisible.
The status of the ‘Dafabet’ sponsorship is not known, and a number of other important questions remain.
When will the special kit be released? And when would the team wear it? Scotland’s edition will be worn just twice by the men’s team so we can probably expect something similar from the Celtic version.
Perhaps it would be worn for a major domestic match, like a crucial derby or the Scottish Cup final should we get there.
The cost is likely to be a burning issue for supporters too. The Scotland kit cost £90, with the kids version priced at £70. (SFA)

And finally, what exactly is the reason for the shirt? Is it to mark the club’s 135th anniversary? Or, cynically speaking, is it just a way to make more money from the Celtic support.
The club only released last season’s ‘fourth kit’ three months from the end of the season, so we could be in for a long wait for answers.
Let’s hope it’s worth it.
