Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is due to face the media ahead of the Scottish Cup final.

On Saturday evening the Hoops will bid for a record eighth domestic treble when we face Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Hampden Park.

It’s a major fixture that could see us lift a fifth trophy in just two seasons under Postecoglou.

While much of the chat will be on the clash against the Championship side, it’s fair to say that there may be another big story emerging.

As we covered yesterday, there is growing interest from Tottenham Hotspur in Postecoglou.

Ange is likely to be quizzed on those links at the press conference, which we understand is set to take place later on Thursday.

Will he quash the rumours? Confirm them? Or palm them off and insist that the focus remains the final?

While the last scenario seems most plausible, this story may be hard to ignore even ahead of such a big game.

Assistant manager John Kennedy has already taken press conferences this season, so Celtic could even put him forward in a curveball in order to take the spotlight off Postecoglou.

That seems a little unlikely though, given that Ange will be required for traditional cup final photo obligations.

Anyway, it promises to be an interesting press conference, where we may or may not find out what’s going on.

For us, the focus is very much on Saturday’s game and the chance for this Celtic side to make even more history.

If we come out on top against the Highlanders it will be another momentous day, regardless of what happens with Postecoglou.

In other news, Ange has picked his favourite Celtic goal of the season
