The Hampden League Cup penalty furore is still hitting the headlines more than 48 hours after Celtic beat Rangers in the League Cup final.
Whilst Celtic fans celebrate winning the League Cup, the Rangers support has been pouring over whether or not Hoops defender Liam Scales should have been penalised for a penalty box shirt tug on Vaclav Cerny.
The Celtic defender believes it wasn’t a penalty as the foul happened outside the box and last night, 67 Hail Hail discussed how Premier Sports confirmed VAR did have a look at the Celtic incident and deemed John Beaton’s decision correct.
As the debate rages on, Celtic and Rangers fans will never know how VAR came to their decision, until now.
When the VAR audio of Celtic vs Rangers ‘penalty’ will become available
Gordon Duncan, who hosts the SFA’s The VAR Review show admits that he hasn’t yet heard the audio but discloses when the next episode of the show will be out.
Duncan told Superscoreboard, “I think the real frustration is because people would like there to be a real explanation, even if you don’t agree with it, you want to hear something tangible.
“And that’s the way Glasgow works. Minds then go to a real serious, sinister explanation. I genuinely don’t know. I haven’t heard the audio.
“As fate would have it, I’m hoping I’m going to get the chance to hear it this week because the next VAR review with Willie Collum will be due in the next week or so. But I think in many ways, it’s going to be a letdown for everyone.”
Gordon Duncan says Celtic vs Rangers penalty call was ‘inexplicable’
“Put it this way,” Duncan continued, “Have you met anyone who doesn’t think it’s a penalty? So I don’t really know what possible explanation there’s going to be, other than a VAR and assistant VAR, whatever, who just overlooks it.
“Do you know what I mean? I don’t know what you call that, a loss of focus, eye off the ball, pardon the pun.
“It’s, like I say, inexplicable is the word that most people are using for a reason.”

The VAR Review show has been a welcome addition to the new season as the SFA look to bring transparency to how their officials reach decisions using video technology.
The Scottish Sun has gone one better and said that the audio will be revealed on Friday when the next episode of the SFA show is due out.
But what is clear is that no matter what reason they provide, the national association will never placate the Rangers fans who believe they lost the cup through some sense of injustice.
Even Rangers boss Philippe Clement knows why Celtic won the trophy. His team were simply not good enough. As soon as the Rangers fans accept that and stop deflecting then maybe, just maybe, they can look at finding a way of bridging the gap which is getting larger by the season.
