Luis Palma’s Celtic days are well and truly over after he completed a move away this summer.

Palma has joined Lech Poznan on loan after being deemed surplus to requirements by Brendan Rodgers.

He underwhelmed in Glasgow with fellow countryman and former Hoops defender Emilio Izaguirre questioning Palma’s attitude at Celtic Park.

The Honduran’s move to Poland seems to have excited Lech Poznan fans and the Polish media are also tipping the winger to have a big season.

Luis Palma hailed as one of the signings of the summer in Poland

After winning the Ekstraklasa last season, Lech Poznan have aspirations of reaching the Champions League main phase and will be relying on the likes of Palma to get them there.

Polish outlet Kanal Sportowy has even said that the 25-year-old ‘had to be included’ in their list of the best signings made by Polish top flight sides and are tipping him to have a strong season.

They wrote: “When compiling a list of the best transfers of the entire summer transfer window in the Ekstraklasa, Palma would have to be included. The winger’s arrival from Honduras to Lech Poznan caused quite a stir.

“For the 25-year-old, a move to Lech Poznan is a chance to rebuild, not just in football.

“Palma has the potential to elevate Kolejorz’s attack to a whole new level. The 27-time Honduran international typically plays as a left winger, though he’s also played on the other flank and even in the middle of the attack.

Fans are primarily looking for assists from him, which he delivered during his time in Scotland.”

Will Luis Palma be eligible to face Celtic in the Champions League?

Should Celtic and Poznan both advance through their qualifiers, there will be a scenario where the two sides draw each other in the league phase.

It’s not known if the Hoops have inserted a clause which will allow Palma to play against them if they do face each other on the off chance.

In the past, Patrick Roberts was allowed to play for Celtic against parent club Manchester City when on loan, even scoring past them at the Etihad Stadium.
