Luis Palma embarks on the next part of his Celtic career and it’s away from Parkhead.

After spending a season out on loan at Olympiacos, Palma may have thought he had a chance to rescue his Celtic career in the coming season.

The Honduran now embarks on his second loan spell away from Celtic as Palma looks to rediscover the form that convinced the Parkhead club to shell out £3.5m two summers ago.

Now at Lech Poznan for the rest of next season, it seems like Palma’s Celtic career is over despite the club actively trying to sign new wingers this summer.

And it seems the Poznan fans are delighted at the capture of Palma as they react to the transfer news this week.

Lech Poznan fans hail Celtic’s ‘angel’ Luis Palma

The Poznan fans seem over the moon at the capture of Palma and it was typified by this reply on their social media post on X yesterday:

Translated: “Luis Palma entering the pitch tomorrow in the 75th minute of the match.”

@KapselRoman seems worried about Palma’s salary and said, “Palma at Celtic earns 1 million euros annually, if Lech takes over the entire contract…”

@saulernesto97 added, “Very good signing, let’s hope he adapts quickly and performs at 100%. Surely he will have successes.”

@Helfi32017837 was another who was delighted with the signing and said, “One of the better, if not the best, transfers of this window in the Ekstraklasa on paper.

“It remains to be seen what he will show on the pitch and how the Ekstraklasa, which can be a deceptive league, will test him.”

Honduran FA tell Celtic’s Luis Palma to ‘go all out’ at Lech Poznan

The Lech Poznan supporters are not the only people delighted that Palma has left Celtic to join them. The Honduran FA are also pleased to see their star man make a fresh start.

Taking to X, the FA said, “Wishing you great success, Luis Palma!

From the House of the H, we wish you the best in this new chapter of your career.

Your talent and perseverance fill us with pride. We know you’ll continue to make Honduras proud, now with the new colours of Lech Poznan in Poland.

“Go all out, Palma!”

Celtic will also be hoping that Palma smashes it at his new club because if he has no future at the club then they will be keen to recoup much of the £3.5m they spent on him in 2023.
