Celtic’s struggles are well-documented but one player who left last summer is in another title race.

Greg Taylor joined PAOK on a free transfer after leaving the Hoops following the expiration of his contract.

The full-back has been in-and-out of the squad and is playing alongside former Bhoys Jonjoe Kenny and
Giorgos Giakoumakis, with fellow teammate Magomed Ozdoev claiming that the weather has helped Taylor adjust.

Although Celtic are well in a title race, it feels like it’s slipping away week by week whereas with PAOK, a Greek SuperLeague top-of-the-table shootout is on the cards.

Greg Taylor could help PAOK win third league title in less than 10 years

It has been a golden era for PAOK of late after years of mediocrity.

They ended their 34-year wait to win the Greek SuperLeague in 2019 before lifting the trophy again in May 2024.

As it stands, PAOK are two points off top spot, which is currently occupied by AEK Athens.

Every team has played 15 games, with Taylor featuring in eight of their league games, registering one assist.

Were Celtic right to let Greg Taylor go?

Sometimes you don’t realise what you had until it’s gone and there are some Celtic fans who have admitted that they may have been too harsh on Taylor.

The 28-year-old left following the return of Kieran Tierney but the left-hand side has been a problem this season.

Tierney took a while to get back up to full speed and even though Marcelo Saracchi impressed, his injury leaves the Hoops with a lack of options available.

Having someone like Taylor in the ranks would’ve been beneficial, especially when serial winners are needed.
