‘Who cares’ – Chris Sutton reacts to Celtic’s win over Young Boys to make Champions League knockout

Celtic left it late to beat Young Boys in the Champions League this evening.

It was a nerve-shredding night of football for the Hoops where they had a whopping three goals disallowed for different reasons.

Kyogo was adjudged to be offside for two of them while another of his strikes was disallowed for a foul by Callum McGregor in the build-up.

Still, a 1-0 victory was enough for the Scottish champions to see themselves through to the knockout playoff spot in the competition for the first time in a number of years.

Aston Villa away is still to come next week with a furious Unai Emery demanding improvement from his team after he warned Celts about their chances earlier this week.

That is then, however, and this is now.

Celtic secured a Champions League playoff spot

Chris Sutton was watching the action going on at Parkhead and the former striker was adamant it was a “comfortable” win for his old side despite the scoreline suggesting otherwise.

The Englishman did, however, acknowledge that it was not the Hoops‘ best performance by any stretch of the imagination.

And he said it was a difficult match to watch at times.

But like every other Celtic fan, the big man doesn’t care how the victories come so long as they do. And three points is in the bag with a playoff spot secured.

Sutton took to social media to have his say.

What Chris Sutton said about Celtic’s ‘comfortable’ win

He posted: “As comfortable as they come…Congratulations to Brendan Rodgers and Celtic on a fantastic achievement.

“Knock outs here Celtic come. That was a tough watch but frankly who cares. Great news for Scottish football”.

It could have been a much more comfortable evening for Celts who had seven shots on target from 16 in total.

Young Boys’ goalkeeper, Marvin Keller, was in inspired form between the sticks for his side and perhaps did not deserve to be on the losing team himself.

He kept out Engels’ penalty in the first-half but on commentary duties, Joe Hart revealed he saw the Belgian do something before shooting that he had never seen before.
