Daizen Maeda has been a revelation for Celtic since joining the club in 2022.

The Japanese winger/striker has been red hot this season as Maeda aims to break the 30-goal barrier, having already notched 28 goals in all competitions this season for Celtic.

The Celtic heroes’ performances in the Champions League have also left a lasting impression with Bayern Munich’s players loving Maeda after his unlimited energy resources wowed the Bundesliga side’s stars.

Now that Maeda is returning from Japan duty, it seems that Brendan Rodgers could be about to find out how his star man really feels at the club, with Celtic set to offer the Japan star a new deal.

Brendan Rodgers set to offer Daizen Maeda a new Celtic deal

According to The Scottish Sun, Maeda is set to be offered a new deal by Celtic in a bid to ward off any summer interest.

The report says that Maeda is ‘happy’ at Celtic and that his family are ‘fully settled’ in Glasgow.

Maeda’s comments on Celtic form sparked fears that he could be thinking about leaving the club; however, with the Hoops hero apparently happy at the club, Rodgers could be about to find out just how content Maeda is if he does offer him a new deal this season.

What’s been said about Daizen Maeda’s Celtic future

Maeda’s excellent form in the Champions League this season has thrust the 27-year-old into the European limelight.

So much so that Chris Sutton admits he’s ‘worried’ about the Celtic star being poached by one of Europe’s top clubs.

Paul Slane has also admitted that he’s fearful that Maeda could join Spurs after his tremendous form in Europe for Rodgers.

As many Celtic fans know, family is important to Maeda, and they are happy in Scotland then fans will be hopeful that that will be enough to persuade their Japanese hero to extend his stay in his adopted country.
