Luis Palma, it’s fair to say, hasn’t had the best of times this season at Celtic.
Palma has had to kick his heels on the Celtic bench this season as he watches his teammates, Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda enjoy a rich veing of form.
The Honduran was given a starting spot in Celtic’s League Cup win over Falkirk but failed to impress in the 60 minutes he was on the park.
Now out of the Honduras national team, Palma shone in Celtic’s 3-2 friendly win over Sligo Rovers last night as he bagged two late goals to nab a hattrick.
And taking in the post-match interviews, the Celtic winger laid out his goal for the seaon and it will please the Hoops support.

Luis Palma wants to do ‘everything’ for his Celtic teammates
There is a common belief that Palma doesn’t do enough the hard work at Celtic whenever he is on the pitch.
Take Daizen Maeda, for example. The Japanese winger is like a machine with the shift he continually puts in for Celtic.
Now Palma will never match that level of energy, not many can, but the Honduran could do more in terms of working and it seems that that is going to be his main focus from now on.
Speaking to Celtic TV, Palma said, “My goal is to help the team. And of course, my team teammates are at very good levels now, so I’m happy with them.
“So for me, it’s I have to be on the same level as them. And of course, if the goals and assists come then I’ll be more than happy.
“But everything I have to do is for the team, and I want to try to help the team always.”
Luis Palma’s Celtic goals could be a sign of things to come
Palma was one of Celtic’s standouts in last nights win over Sligo and whilst not much should be read into friendly results or performances, he did look like a different player.
The Hoops winger needs to win back his place in the national squad and Palma recently admitted that he knows what he needs to do to at Celtic to get back into Honduras’ plans.
And looking at how worked with his teammates when he hit his hattrick, Palma looks a lot more positive in a Celtic jersey now.
Whether he will regian a starting place in the Celtic team soon is anyone’s guess but if Palma can take that performace last night and build on it, then that can only be good news for the Celtic supporters.
