That’s a bitter pill to swallow for Celtic.
In the end, Harry Kane’s goal at Celtic Park proved to be a killer for Brendan Rodgers’ side and a key reason why they were knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich.
Everybody is aware of Kane’s quality, but to leave him unmarked from a corner is something that will hurt the Celtic players because they all deserved so much more.
Bayern scored a late equaliser against Celtic in the second leg of their Champions League tie to progress to the last-16.
But the game didn’t come without its drama, even before the game when Kane dropped out of training and there were question marks over whether he would play.

Why Harry Kane was subbed off for Bayern Munich against Celtic
The England international started the game and his effort from inside the penalty area struck the crossbar.
But, other than that, he was fairly quiet, before Celtic fans were surprised to see and hear that he had been taken off at half-time.
Many were wondering why that was the case, surely it wasn’t tactical, but as Sky Germany reported, it was due to a calf issue.
‘Harry Kane was subbed off with an apparent calf problem, according to Sky,’ wrote Bayern and Germany’s Twitter account.
What Kane said after Bayern’s win over Celtic
As Celtic lick their wounds, it seems as though Bayern might be without their star striker as he is set for a scan.
And this is what he told reporters after the game, as posted by Bayern and Germany’s social media account.
Harry Kane on his calf discomfort: “We’ll have a scan tonight and then we’ll see. I’m not sure if I can play against Frankfurt on Sunday.”
Put aside that poor defending from a corner, Celtic, including the two centre-backs Auston Trusty and Cameron Carter-Vickers, dealt with Kane very well and should be proud of their performances.
Kane was kept fairly quiet throughout his time on the pitch and it’s a good sign for Rodgers going forward.
