Wilfried Nancy put a temporary halt to the madness on Sunday.
Under immense pressure after losing his first four games, he secured his first win as Celtic manager with a 3-1 win over Aberdeen.
On the same day, Hearts beat Rangers at Tynecastle, maintaining a perfect record against the Glasgow clubs and keeping their six-point lead at the top of the Premiership table.
Nancy has a win on the board, but still needs plenty more if he is to fully put his nightmare start behind him.
And for Henry Winter, the result doesn’t really change anything.
Should Celtic re-sign Kyogo in January?
Henry Winter on Martin O’Neill and Wilfried Nancy at Celtic
Nancy hasn’t been helped by the fact that Martin O’Neill did such a good job during his interim spell.
Celtic had won seven in eight under the 73-year-old, before Nancy’s abrupt changes severely disrupted the team’s momentum.

Winter, as a guest on the STV Radio Football Show, discussed Nancy, O’Neill and the title race in general.
He said: “I think it’s brilliant that Hearts [are top]. They won again yesterday – that was a good win.
“It was also an important win for Wilfried Nancy. I mean, I’m still slightly surprised that he’s Celtic manager, when you consider…
“The job that Martin O’Neill was doing – and I’m probably the leader of Martin O’Neill’s southern supporters’ group.
“It’s good to see more teams involved. Rangers have got a decent manager, they’ll pick up.
“Interesting to see what Celtic will do. Is it three game’s time and it’s another Old Firm?
“If Rangers go to Celtic – and this is not the greatest Celtic squad, and certainly not the greatest Celtic manager – then, you know…
“I mean, I’ve just sat through, the other night, the Kenny Dalglish film. And the Celtic footage, which Asif Kapadia, the director, got hold of, is just unbelievable.
“It reminds you of the Quality Street Gang, and Jinky Johnstone, and obviously Kenny, before he moved south at 26.
“The quality of players there… I mean, Celtic have got high standards. Absolutely got to raise it. But actually to see other clubs in the frame, with good managers, by the way, overachieving… it’s great to see.”
It doesn’t appear that the Celtic players don’t want to play for Wilfried Nancy. This is a nice wee moment.
Wilfried Nancy’s first five Celtic matches
Nancy’s system-change led to a whole host of players moving to completely unfamiliar roles – Yang Hyun-Jun and Sebastian Tounekti playing as wingers against Hearts was just the start.
But Yang was one of a few players who looked back to his best on Sunday, alongside Kieran Tierney.
Liam Scales had almost exclusively started under O’Neill and Rodgers, but he has been named among the substitutes in both of Nancy’s last two games.
It’s hard to decipher what’s going through Nancy’s head – some of his decisions and answers can be quite out there.
