67 Hail Hail fans have had their say on TalkingPoints about Celtic’s controversial red card in the draw with Hearts at Tynecastle.

Celtic were leading Hearts 2-1 when Auston Trusty and Kabore clashed with less than 15 minutes to go in a one-on-one.

The US defender was adjudged to have tripped the Hearts striker as Trusty appeared to have clipped his heels as Kabore ran across him.

Is Martin O’Neill correct? The Celtic boss was fuming!

After being booked, John Beaton made a VAR call to ask Steven McLean to review his decision and send off the Celtic defender for DOGSO.

As former referees slam the Celtic red card, Hoops supporters have had their say on 67 Hail Hail platform, TalkingPoints.

Celtic fans are fuming with John Beaton’s VAR call

Celtic fans were fuming and sent Beaton a big message on TalkingPoints.

One Celtic supporter said, “Beaton has done it again intervened to get a Celtic player sent off last time was at Tynecastle.

“No matter what the rules, this man has no rules, no scruples where Celtic concerned.”

Another was raging and posted, “Martin O’Neill was correct. Never a red card but certainly an Orange card manufactured in Orange Halls.

“Some people may wonder how Beaton & McLean can walk around on a daily basis.”

One Hoops supporter believes Trusty should never have seen yellow and posted, “I don’t think it was even a booking, how do you avoid a clip on the run when a player runs across you?”

Another fan raged, “Never a red. The Hearts players were rolling around all day ffs, as were others!

“Referee was a disgrace, dishing out soft cards to Celtic players. Then when cheatin Beaton got involved, it was only going to go one way. Red!”

Another Celtic fan sent Beaton a Rangers reminder, “Let’s also remember that Beaton didn’t give the stonewall penalty to Livingston v Rangers.

“That plus another stonewall penalty against Rangers in another match with another official means Rangers pocketed 4 points extra from these two crucial decisions as in each game they won by a one goal margin and could decide the title winners.”

Celtic appeal Auston Trusty red card

Celtic have since moved to appeal the decision as they made a statement on social media 24 hours after the match.

Taking to X, Celtic said, “We can confirm that Celtic Football Club will be submitting an appeal to the SFA in relation to the red card imposed on Auston Trusty, following the intervention of VAR during Sunday’s match at Tynecastle.”

Won’t matter worth a jot now, because the decision cost Celtic two points and the chance to close the gap to Hearts.
