Ange Postecoglou dropped the ball at Tottenham after Celtic complete £10m January transfer deal

Celtic’s transfer business is starting to ramp up almost as quickly as the pressure on Ange Postecoglou is at Tottenham.

Postecoglou is under fire as Spurs currently sit in 15th place in the English Premier League and the former Celtic manager tried to work out how to end the Premier League club’s seven-game winless run.

With many of his first-team players out injured, Postecoglou has to try and get through his next lot of fixtures with 12 players lying on the treatment table.

Ange has also bemoaned Spurs’ lack of transfer activity and with striker, Dominic Solanke, out long-term, it seems that the Australian has dropped the ball with a solution to that after Celtic completed a £10m transfer deal this week.

Ange Postecoglou’s £10m Celtic mistake could prove costly for Spurs

Spurs need reinforcements to help improve their league position this season. Having spent over £300m since taking over the London club, not throwing a further £10m Celtic’s way might be a huge mistake for the former Hoops boss.

TBR Football reported that Postecoglou ‘rejected’ the chance to make an offer for Kyogo Furuhashi in the January window.

The report says the Spurs were ‘offered’ the chance to sign the Japanese international but preferred to ‘focus their attention elsewhere’.

With Kyogo’s scoring record both in the domestic game and on the continent, the 30-year-old could have been a good option/stop gap for the Premier League to get them out of trouble for the remainder of this season.

Celtic hero Kyogo Furuhashi’s goal record would have benefitted Spurs

Kyogo’s goalscoring record at all levels proves that not only would he do a job for Tottenham, he could potentially have been a first pick striker for Postecoglou.

The Japanese striker has also scored five goals for his country which backs up that the former Celtic striker can produce the goods at the very highest level.
