The season is just days away from beginning and Celtic are hoping to build on a relatively successful campaign last time out once again.
Brendan Rodgers has remained coy on his future as he goes into the last year of his Celtic contract while there are also plenty of new faces at Parkhead.
Barry Ferguson thinks Rangers will win the league, however, the Hoops have a squad well used to winning and they won’t be letting the Scottish Premiership slip away just like that.
Ahead of the 2025/26 season, we at 67 Hail Hail have given our verdict on how the season will go.

How will Celtic do in the league this season?
Callum Boyle: “There is no denying that Celtic’s neighbours have strengthened and that has caused some concern among supporters due to the lack of activity in the transfer window. People forget though that it takes a long time for players to gel and at Celtic they are all serial winners. I think title number 56 will be secured.”
Gary Kirkpatrick: “Celtic are the undisputed kings of Scottish football and given their squad strength – despite needing a few more bodies at present – compared to Rangers, it’s clear they will lift their fifth consecutive title.”
Amir Mir: “First of course. Yes, the summer transfer window is frustrating, but one thing remains from last season, and that’s the fact that Brendan Rodgers is still in the dugout. He has won the title in every season he has been in Scotland, and I expect him to deliver number 56.
Patrick Sinat: “Celtic will win the league. It might well be closer than last season’s title race but Brendan Rodgers should have enough in the team to see it over the line. As for winning a treble, that will all depend on whether or not Celtic bring in enough players to cope with the demands of competing in four tournaments this season.”
Who will Celtic’s key player be this season?
Callum Boyle: “The only answer to this for me is Cameron Carter-Vickers. Whenever he is missing from the side, Celtic feel it a lot. He’s the best defender the club have had since Virgil van Dijk and is a key component of the spine and one of the first names on the team sheet.
Gary Kirkpatrick: “Benjamin Nygren really impressed in pre-season and looks like someone who will hit the ground running when the competitive action starts. Expect plenty of goal contributions from the Swede this year.
Amir Mir: “I am going to go for the skipper. Callum McGregor is the heartbeat of Celtic and one of the first names on the team sheet. Without him, you worry about how the team would function. As important as Rodgers.”
Patrick Sinat: “Celtic’s key player will be Kieran Tierney. The former Arsenal man has already proven his quality in pre-season with impressive performances against Newcastle, Sporting CP and the first half of the Ajax defeat in Como.”
Who will surprise Celtic fans this season?
Callum Boyle: “Luke McCowan will play a lot more than people realise this season. McCowan was brilliant in his debut campaign and will be called upon once again. Reliable, hardworking and can always chip in with a goal or two.”
Gary Kirkpatrick: “Hyunjun Yang gets unfair criticism from Celtic fans. The South Korean’s development is on an upward trend and this could be the season where he proves a lot of people wrong.”
Amir Mir: “I will put Auston Trusty’s name forward. I understand the defence was an issue, especially towards the back end of last season. But with a season in Glasgow under his belt, I can see Trusty progressing and surprising everyone in 2025/26. And remember, this is World Cup season, and Trusty will want to make Mauricio Pochettino’s USMNT squad, which will be on American soil.”
Patrick Sinat: “The player I think who will surprise everyone is Auston Trusty. The defender came in for a bit of stick last season and even lost his place in the first-team. But it seems that with a full pre-season under his belt, Trusty has improved immensely and he could feature heavily next season.”
