Celtic could have the chance to reignite talks for one of their transfer targets after a new development in his proposed move to Blackburn Rovers emerged.
Brendan Rodgers hinted at more signings this transfer window after Celtic were beaten by Estrela da Amadora in their third pre-season friendly.
Lennon Miller is still the preferred target amongst Celtic supporters but with several European teams interested in Miller, that could be hard to secure.
That would leave Rodgers going back to the drawing board if he wanted to bolster his central midfield options and one former target could be available once again.
Moussa Baradji to Blackburn Rovers is in doubt
The Hoops were credited with interest in Moussa Baradji earlier this summer but nothing ever materialised.
Baradji has since been tipped to make a move to Blackburn Rovers and at one stage it looked as if that would happen.
However, the Lancashire Telegraph have revealed that talks between Yverdon Sport and Blackburn have hit a stumbling block.
Despite flying him in on Wednesday night, no progress has been made and an announcement doesn’t seem likely as of yet.
It seems like Blackburn still believe the deal will be completed but for now, it still hangs in the balance.
Celtic can offer Moussa Baradji a European dream
Even though Celtic’s main trio in the central midfield role is all locked in, squad depth is vital for the upcoming season.
The Hoops have four competitions to compete in this season and the allure of European football is one that would be hard to turn down for Baradji.
On average, Celtic usually play 50 games a season, meaning that that Baradji would get plenty of opportunities.
Blackburn may be a stepping stone to the Premier League, but the Bhoys can offer an even wider audience on the European stage – all while the 24-year-old shows what he is capable of.
