Celtic fans writing off Wilfried Nancy after one game need to stop

Let’s just all take a minute to breathe…

Celtic’s 2-1 loss against Hearts was the less than ideal start for Wilfried Nancy in his first game in charge.

Several players let themselves down, while the Frenchman also knows that things will have to improve drastically.

Fans booed the side off at full time, while some have already determined the 48-year-old’s tenure to be a write-off.

That needs to stop.

Wilfried Nancy won’t make things click overnight

Given the magnitude of the game, Celtic fans wanted to see a statement performance and return to the top of the table.

The reality is, that was never going to happen.

Forget the change of formation for a second, Nancy only had two training sessions with the side – and only one of them would’ve been at full intensity.

Even for the most talented of managers, two sessions is hard to implement your style.

Yes, he should have stuck to the 4-2-3-1 formation at the weekend but, equally, he has to incorporate his philosophy at some point.

Lots of work is required on the training pitch and the Hoops will get better as time goes by.

Players will understand more, as will Nancy. This is not a quick fix, as Scott Brown said, and the rewards will be worth it down the line.

Do you agree with this take after the Hearts loss?

Wilfried Nancy is not the problem at Celtic

To put the blame at the feet of someone who has only just walked through the door does seem unfair.

We all know that the problems have continuously been upstairs, and fans proved that with their peaceful pre-match protest.

Those problems were here before the Frenchman and while he can help some of them to be resolved, others also need to look in the mirror and realise that they have been causing more problems than the others they choose to blame.
