Celtic should not send Ismalia Soro out on loan

Celtic have a lot of midfielders in the squad, in fact it is probably the most populated area of the side. That number grew even more recently with the arrival of David Turnbull from Motherwell.

As a result, some midfielders have not featured for Celtic this season. One such player is Ismaila Soro, who joined the Hoops in January from Bnei Yehuda. In fact, in his time at the club, Soro has yet to make a single appearance for the club.

Loan deals have worked in past

That might lead some Celtic fans to call for the player to be loaned out. After all, it has worked in the past for the likes of Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie.

However, it would not be the best decision to loan out Soro, not just yet anyway. He can learn as much at Celtic as he could playing regularly for a struggling Premiership side.

Soro has the players around him at Celtic who can turn him into a player. For example, Soro is a defensive midfielder.

Best teacher for player is at club

Who at Celtic is a defensive midfielder? Scott Brown. He can take Soro under his wing and show him how to become a player.

He can help Soro settle into the surroundings of Celtic, and more importantly help him work on his game.

Now, Brown is undeniably winding down his Celtic career. You would think that a move to coaching will come sooner rather than later. Therefore, Neil Lennon could be asking Brown right now to coach Soro, and help him acclimatise to life at Celtic.

Of course, Neil Lennon was also a gifted defensive midfielder, so he can also assist Soro.

We don’t yet know that much about Soro, but if Celtic were willing to spend a decent amount of money on him – £2m, as reported by the Daily Record – Lennon and Nick Hammond must think that there is a player there.

Hopefully that player can be found with the guidance of a Celtic legend like Scott Brown.

In other news, Vaclav Hladky discussed Celtic’s interest in him.
