Are Celtic close to putting together a striker unit that fans can finally get behind?

Hopefully, the recent arrival of Camilo Duran from Qarabağ FK will kick-start this new era under the legendary Martin O’Neill.

Celtic already have Callum Osmand in the building, and there is talk that Kelechi Iheanacho could return to Glasgow, with both parties keen.

On top of that, Celtic have also been linked with Kieron Bowie. A long-time target for the Hoops, who joined Hellas Verona in January, but they were relegated from Serie A last season.

Celtic’s strikers for the 2026/27 season: Camilo Duran, Kieran Bowie, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Callum Osmand?

Kyogo Furuhashi left Celtic during the January transfer window of 2025, and since then, it has been chaos in the striker department.

Many, many players have tried to claim that spot, and in the end, the same man has come out on top: Daizen Maeda.

But Maeda is expected to leave Celtic this summer, and many feel it’s best for all parties if he does, despite his crazy post-split fixture form that led to the five in a row.

If that’s the case, it raises the question as to who will score the goals for Celtic ahead of the new campaign, as Duran, Bowie, Iheanacho and Osmand could be a seriously tasty quartet to get behind.

Everyone ticks a box for Celtic

Iheanacho scored crucial goals for Celtic last season and proved to many that, when on song, he is the best finisher in the country. His only issue is fitness.

But if he can get that right, then not only will he score goals for fun on the domestic scene, but also in Europe.

Then you have the rising star Osmand. Even though the former Fulham youngster only played a handful of games, he made some telling impacts, including scoring against Rangers and Hearts.

Added to that, you have the new kid on the block, Duran. At the age of 24, he has plenty more left in his locker to go to the next level, as his five goals in the Champions League last term should excite the supporters.

Plus, the Colombian star isn’t just about the goals, because just like Osmand, he can play across the front three, after he also registered ten assists last term.

And finally, you have the well-known Bowie.

Once again, just like Osmand and Duran, the young Scottish striker has lots of room and potential to go to the next level.

The 23-year-old might have suffered relegation last term, but he joined Hellas Verona midway through the campaign and still scored four in 14.

Not forgetting his understanding of Scottish football after his spell with Hibernian.

Bring it on, and it’s time to get excited ahead of this new era with O’Neill!
