Celtic bring an end to the most dramatic of seasons this weekend when they face Dunfermline in the Scottish Cup final, and it could be the final time we see some players wear the green and white shirt.
Martin O’Neill suggested that it will also be his last game in charge, one week after guiding the Hoops to an extraordinary final day title win against Hearts.
A major summer rebuild is expected to happen this summer, and we are likely to say goodbye to some iconic faces from over the years. With that, here are five Celtic stars who could make their final appearance for the club at Hampden Park on 23 May.

Which Celtic player is most likely to leave this summer? 🤷♂️
Hatate? Maeda? Anyone else?
Callum McGregor
This would be the biggest shock if it happened but one that can’t be ruled out. Callum McGregor lifted the 11th Scottish Premiership title of his career but looked more emotional than usual. Maybe it was the way he did it, or there was more to it.
McGregor has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, and the 32-year-old may be tempted by a move to the Middle East as his career begins to wind down.
Everybody hopes he will stay until the end, but it would also be the perfect way to bow out.
Reo Hatate
Things haven’t fallen for Reo Hatate this season, and this summer may be the one where he finally departs.
Hatate has been used sparingly by Martin O’Neill but has also been inconsistent for large portions of the campaign.
The midfielder has still been a brilliant servant for the club, but it looks like we will be parting ways after this weekend.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
We haven’t heard anything to suggest that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be extending his stay at Parkhead beyond this summer, so we can assume he is off.
Brought in to bolster the midfield, he’s been a decent squad player and has popped up with an important goal or two.
It’s not been vintage from the former England international, but the Champions League winner’s future will depend on the new manager.
Kelechi Iheanacho
Our very own super sub. If you had told fans at the start of the season that they’d have been upset at the idea of Kelechi Iheanacho not being around for the 2026/27 campaign, you’d have been laughed at.
Without his goals this season, the league title would not be in the hands of the Hoops and whatever happens, we will be eternally grateful to him.
You can see how popular Iheanacho is amongst the squad and hopefully, this weekend won’t be his last appearance for the club.
Daizen Maeda
Last but not least, the one we all expect to depart.
Words cannot describe the impact Daizen Maeda has had at Celtic.
Should Celtic grant Daizen Maeda his Premier League wish?
Comment below, Celtic fans…👇
The last few weeks would have been iconic but his five years have brought numerous happy memories.
Celtic will fetch a healthy fee for Maeda this summer and winning one more trophy is the perfect way to say goodbye.
