There is one position that Celtic will still be looking at to improve this summer.

After Adam Idah’s move to Swansea City, the Hoops brought in Kelechi Iheanacho to help soften the blow.

That leaves Brendan Rodgers with Iheanacho, Johnny Kenny, Shin Yamada and Callum Osmand as his options until January – but he will want more improvements.

Yamada was left out of Celtic’s Europa League squad, which suggests that the Hoops boss doesn’t fully trust him.

With a position still up for grabs, 67 Hail Hail looks at four striking options that could come to Parkhead.

Jonas Wind – Wolfsburg

Jonas Wind was once tipped to be a hot prospect while at Copenhagen, but has so far only shown glimpses of his skillset at Wolfsburg.

The 26-year-old has only had one minute of football in the Bundesliga this season and is out of contract in 2026, meaning that Celtic could sign him on a pre-contract agreement.

Due to his situation, Wolfsburg may be willing to sell him on a cut-price fee and while he’s by no means prolific, he would be an upgrade on every other option.

Hugo Cuypers – Chicago Fire

Goals are what Celtic are looking for and Hugo Cuypers certainly fills that quota.

18 goals in 30 games for the Chicago Fire in all competitions is an impressive return after swapping his native Belgium for the US.

Cuypers is still 28 so would be able to come in and hold the fort in the number nine position for some time and has a wealth of European experience.

Haji Wright – Coventry City

If Celtic wanted to spend big, Haji Wright at Coventry City might just be that option.

Wright is a US international so could well be persuaded by Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty to make the move north of the border.

He is a real all-rounder and can score a variety of goals, as well as offer both pace and physicality up top. On paper, he would be an upgrade on Idah.

Promise David – Union Saint-Gilloise

There aren’t many better run clubs in football right now than Belgian outfit Union Saint-Gilloise.

Owned by Tony Bloom, Union SG have defied odds in recent times and that is partly down to the purchase of Promise David.

The 24-year-old has had an incredible rise from playing in Malta to Belgium and has 26 goals in 46 games for his current club since signing in 2024.

This would be the most ambitious of the lot but given Bloom’s interest in Hearts now, it’s unlikely he would want to strengthen a rival of a club he has stakes in.
