Kieron Bowie is one of Scotland’s bright young talents tipped to move on from Hibernian one day in the future.

Celtic have been linked with Bowie in the past, who remained at Easter Road following a breakout campaign last season.

David Gray has put his faith in the forward and all eyes will be on him this weekend to see if he can deliver the goods.

Kieron Bowie has the chance to show if he is ready for Celtic

The Hoops’ attacking issues have been well-documented this season, even if Martin O’Neill has got them firing them in on a more consistent basis.

Daizen Maeda is likely to leave Celtic Park and will need to be replaced, while nobody has really done enough to make the number nine spot their own.

Bowie may be young but his experience and knowhow of Scottish football would make him tailor-made to come in and make an impact.

From a financial perspective too, the 23-year-old would be considerably cheaper than alternatives in the market like Louis Munteanu and Diego Rossi.

This weekend could make or break that decision. Goals, or even giving Liam Scales and Auston Trusty a difficult time would certainly count as a pass on the audition card.

Kieron Bowie’s season in numbers

The forward’s numbers are by no means out of this world, but eight goal contributions from 21 games in all competitions suggest that there is room to be improved on.

Meet the Hibs danger man. Would you take him at Celtic?

Benjamin Nygren is Celtic’s current leader in the goal contribution charts with 12 (seven goals, five assists) across all competitions, proving that Bowie isn’t far behind.

In a better squad with better players, those numbers may have increased even more and the clamour for Bowie to become a Celtic player would only get bigger.
