Lawrence Shankland endured one of the worst moments in his career at Celtic Park last season when Hearts’ title bid collapsed on the last day.
Hearts had to avoid defeat at Celtic Park to clinch their first title in 60 years and Shankland must have thought he was the man to deliver it after putting the Tynecastle club 1-0 up in the first half.
However, a first half equaliser from Arne Engels squared it, and then with just three minutes left to play, Celtic duo Daizen Maeda and Callum Osmand ripped the title from Hearts’ grasp leaving their players shellshocked and in tears.
And now, just over two months later, and Shankland has made a claim about that day that not one Celtic fan will buy for a single second.

Lawrence Shankland claims he is over Celtic Park title agony
Now at Rangers, Shankland has spoken about the final day heartbreak he suffered at Celtic Park as the new Ibrox striker claimed he is ‘over’ his title pain.
Shankland told The Scottish Sun, “It feels like years ago if I’m honest.
“Obviously, you need to pack it pretty quickly to go to a World Cup and coming here feels like a fresh start as well.
“It was disappointing at the time, but I’m definitely over it now.”
The biggest pain Shankland has ever felt in his career and he expects Celtic fans to believe that he is now not bothered about it?
Pull the other one. Hearts handled the Celtic Park defeat appallingly, as allegations about their players being assaulted, the game being abandoned and being forced to leave Parkhead due to safety concerns.
That alone tells Celtic fans that not only did the title defeat shake the Tynecastle club to their core, the pain will live with their players, and Hearts fans, for longer than just a couple of months.
Celtic will make Lawrence Shankland prove he is really over it
Shankland may want to bury that memory, but joining Rangers means he has placed himself straight back into another title fight with Celtic.
Every Glasgow Derby will bring the pressure back and Celtic fans will be watching closely to see how he handles it when the pressure rises again.
Shankland can call Rangers a fresh start, but Celtic Park will not feel like years ago when he returns wearing blue.
Until he proves otherwise, Celtic supporters are entitled to believe that title collapse still hurts far more than he is willing to admit.
