Martin O’Neill lives and breathes Celtic like the rest of us and proved that once again during his pre-match interview.
A lot is on the line for the Bhoys in their final league phase fixture of the Europa League against Utrecht.
Three points guarantees a place in the knockout play-offs, where they will face an extra two legs before progressing to the last 16 if successful.
Advancing further in the competition may hinder their chances of retaining the Scottish Premiership title, but that should be irrelevant regardless.
And, for any Celtic fans who may be thinking of that, let O’Neill prove otherwise.
Celtic fans would you rather: Win the Europa League but miss out on the league title?
Or… get knocked out of the Europa League and win the title?
Martin O’Neill thinks a Europa League run will benefit Celtic elsewhere
Hearts and Rangers may be licking their lips at the idea of Celtic having more games to play. But momentum is key, right?
The Celtic legend knows that better than anyone else. More wins unites the fanbase and more wins means more belief.
O’Neill knows that and wants his side to be involved in as many games as possible to give them a chance.
“If I was the opposition [challenging for the title], I’d be delighted if Celtic were to progress as the further in the competition they go, the more games they have to play,” said the 73-year-old.
“It’s all part of it. We’ve got ourselves into this position with two amazing performances against Feyenoord and Bologna.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity. Don’t waste it.”

Martin O’Neill says what all Celtic people should be saying
Winning is everything at this club.
It doesn’t matter if we’re playing Arbroath in a friendly or a Champions League final, every game should be a win.
No matter the situation elsewhere, O’Neill’s attitude towards every game is what everyone who bleeds Celtic should be saying.
