Brendan Rodgers has three out-and-out strikers on his books right now, but they may not be the answer for the 2025/26 season.
Adam Idah is the main striker, with the inexperience of Johnny Kenny and summer signing Callum Osmand behind him.
Of course, Daizen Maeda went goal crazy as the centre-forward after Kyogo Furuhashi left in January.
But the Japan star might be needed as a left-sided attacker, because of Jota’s long-term injury, and more worryingly, he might not even be at Celtic next season.
Either way, a proven striker is needed, and somebody who can elevate Rodgers’ team in the Champions League.

But the answer to Celtic’s striker problems could lie with Callum Wilson after he confirmed his exit from Newcastle United on Monday.
The 33-year-old has played on the European scene before and also has bags of experience on the Premier League stage.
As a free agent, he is a better option than someone like Calvert-Lewin, even though they both have their injury concerns.

Yes, it would be a risk signing a player like Wilson because of his past injury records, but he would be a free transfer.
Plus, this is a player Rodgers wanted to sign (Metro) when he was the Leicester City manager in 2019, and when he is on it, his movement in the final third is of a high, high quality.
