With the season coming to a close last weekend, much of the discussion over the next few weeks will be regarding the potential arrivals in the summer transfer window.

Two players in particular who will have a lot of interest surrounding their future are the loan duo of Jota and Cameron Carter Vickers.

Both players joined the Hoops last summer on deals which included an option to buy and enjoyed a successful stint at Parkhead.

After such an impressive year with the club, fans will understandably be desperate to see Jota and CCV signed on a permanent.

Ange Postecoglou himself has made it clear that he won’t be dragged into adding to the speculation whilst also stating his interest in seeing the two players signed up.

However, patience will be needed from the Celtic support.

Currently, the on-loan Benfica and Tottenham Hotspur players are out enjoying the off-season alongside fellow Hoops teammates Carl Starfelt, Stephen Welsh and Anthony Ralston.

So, it might seem easy enough to complete the deal, with an option to buy included. But there will also be several variables that need to be sorted from Celtic and the player’s side of things.

After the successful campaign, there will likely be more interest in the players from across Europe.

That possibility might be a scary prospect for some during this transfer window. But, we need to have trust that they have seen the work conducted by this Celtic side and want to be part of that going forward.

If Champions League football and celebrations such as Saturdays aren’t enough to show these players why they should remain at Parkhead, I don’t know what is.

The time will come for both deals to be completed.

For now, we just need to sit back, be patient, and let Ange Postecoglou and the club get to work on moving these deals over the line, which will come with time.
