The big news story of the day for the Celtic fans is that Man City are interested in signing talismanic striker, Kyogo Furuhashi.
We discussed this morning how Furuhashi is one of two strikers wanted by City as they look to replace Julien Alvarez after his £82m move to Atletico Madrid.
Pep Guardiola has identified the Celtic striker as a player who could do a job for his squad and it seems that Kyogo is keen on the move.
However, there was one stumbling block in the way and now, it seems, that has been removed as the Premier League club makes their next transfer move.
Fabrizio Romano update a cause for Celtic concern
67 Hail Hail spoke this morning about City putting their focus on tying up the deal to bring Barcelona midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan, back to the club.
The German is a legend at the Etihad after captaining them to the treble in his final season at the club and now that his contract is up at the Catalan giants, it seems that Pep Guardiola has got his man.
Fabrizio Romano took to social media to make this announcement:
Romano said, “Ilkay Gündogan back to Manchester City, here we go! Deal in place with German midfielder to join on contract valid until June 2025.
“Agreement reached after positive talks in last 48h and Pep Guardiola said yes, as revealed yesterday. Gündogan will leave Barça for FREE.”
That means that City can now focus their attention on looking to sign Kyogo Furuhashi if they want to take their initial interest forward.

And by all accounts, they could. The Premier League club have had their eye on the Celtic striker ever since he made his move to Scotland back in 2021.
Their scouts are said to admire how Kyogo deals with the ‘physical aspect’ of the game as well and is ‘very high on their list of options’ according to Graeme Bailey who 67 Hail Hail spoke to earlier today.
With just under two weeks of the transfer window to go, the Celtic fans will be glancing nervously towards their calenders hoping for the days to tick past quickly.
