Celtic won their 10th league game in a row against Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon, after a 2-1 victory over Aberdeen. The Hoops’ goals came from Christopher Jullien and Odsonne Edouard, in a game which should have been won by a much bigger margin. Aberdeen’s goal came from Sam Cosgrove, who was later sent-off for a foul on Kristoffer Ajer.
Here are three things we learned from Celtic’s latest league victory:
1. Managerial decision changed game

Neil Lennon should be satisfied with the win, especially it was one of his decisions which help clinch the three points for the Hoops. The Hoops boss took off Olivier Ntcham, brought on Mikey Johnston, and moved Ryan Christie into the ‘number 1o’ role. The move paid off, as Christie’s pass in the middle of the park found Odsonne Edouard, who finished in style. Celtic do look better with Christie in the ‘number 10’ role, that is where he should play for the next two league games.
2. Key man does what Lennon asked of him

Ryan Christie has been in the news this season for the number of goals he has scored this season, and rightfully so. 17 goals is a superb return for a midfielder. However, Christie revealed this week that Neil Lennon has ‘stressed‘ to him the importance of adding assists to his game. He must have been listening closely to the manager’s words, as he provided the assists for both of Celtic’s goals. His corner led to Christopher Jullien’s goal, whilst his pass set up Odsonne Edouard’s winner. Christie had 11 assists before the game, he now has 13, and 20 must be a real possibility for the season.
3. Returning star cements first-team spot

Boli Bolingoli missed the midweek win over Hearts. He was back in team to face Aberdeen, and he performed very well. He was solid in defence and put in some wicked crosses in attack. One of which Odsonne Edouard really should have scored from. However, Bolingoli’s performance should have Neil Lennon’s mind up about who starts at left-back for the upcoming games against St Mirren and Rangers. It should be Bolingoli. He can provide the attacking edge that can be key for the Hoops in picking up the six points from those games.
