Wilfried Nancy should avoid reuniting with Palestine international at Celtic

Wilfried Nancy may decide to go for tried and tested when the January transfer window opens.

Diego Rossi has been linked with Celtic and would be seen as the perfect option to replace Daizen Maeda if he were to leave.

Another Columbus Crew star, Wessam Abou Ali, is also reportedly being watched by Celtic.

The Hoops almost certainly need a forward to help with their issues in front of goal.

If they are to make a move for the Palestine international, Nancy’s chances of signing the 26-year-old have been made clear.

Wessam Abou Ali unlikely to join Celtic

Abou Ali’s injury record is something to be concerned by, but Nancy knows how to get the best out of him when fit and firing.

However, any chancs of the 26-year-old reuniting with the Frenchman seem unlikely according to the Crew’s general manager, Issa Tall.

He told US media: “Wessam was promised — and its something that he quite often refers to is that I didn’t lie to him. Meaning, he was promised one of the best clubs in MLS.

Wessam did not sign because we had Wilfried Nancy. He didn’t know who Wilfried was. So, Wessam came for the Columbus Crew and he needs to stay because it’s the Columbus Crew.”

Celtic should look elsewhere for a striker

It is vital that Celtic find someone who can come in and make an instant impact in Glasgow.

Columbus Crew will remain firm in their stance on keeping Abou Ali after already losing one key man.

Any transfer would have to cost a hefty sum when they could stay closer to home and find someone that way.

What is the one player you wish that Celtic had signed?

Kieron Bowie and Louis Munteanu are two candidates that come into the side straightaway with a mix of domestic and European experience.

That could prove to be more valuable than any inflated fee paid for a player who will need a period to adapt, and get back up to fitness due to the MLS season recently finishing.
