Celtic have been linked with Palestinian international striker Wessam Abou Ali.

As Wilfried Nancy’s Celtic appointment nears, a list of transfer targets is already apparently being mooted as the Frenchman looks to put his stamp on the team.

The Daily Record reports that Columbus Crew striker Wessam Abou Ali is on Nancy’s list as one of his first signings just months after joining the MLS side from Al Ahly.

However, it’s what the report doesn’t tell Celtic fans that should make them feel wary about spending money on the 26-year-old as one of Nancy’s first recruits.

Wessam Abou Ali’s injury record should make Celtic wary of transfer

At 26, Abou Ali has been in the game for a long time and has been capped by Palestine 11 times with a four goal return.

However, looking at his recent injury record, Celtic will need to be wary as the club cannot afford to take on a player who is at risk of spending too much time on the sidelines.

From Transfermarkt, Abou Ali’s injury record is as follows:

A total of 52 games missed over a five-season period is not a great record for a player who is just 26.
