Zany Adidas 22-23 kits leaked; more clues for Celtic supporters

More Adidas kits for the 22-23 season have been leaked, and Celtic fans ought to embrace for something a bit out there next season.

While the home kit is hard to mess with – the Hoops are iconic, after all – Adidas have generally played it safe and classy with Celtic away kits. Block colours have been preferred, apart from a white, pink and green pinstripe third kit, which frankly doesn’t get used often enough.

Now, though, to follow on from some Adidas leaks from last week, some more of German manufacturer’s designs have gone online.

And they’re pretty interesting. First up, Arsenal’s away [Footyheadlines] and third kits [Footyheadlines] have been been leaked, and we don’t mind them at all. Click through for pictures.

The Gunners will have a black and gold away colourway, while a bold pink with nods to their classic badge are used for the third. Celtic have had mixed success (read: little if any) with pink designs, but the Black Magic kit of 03-04 remains an utter classic. Both, though, have some really interesting design choices; particularly the abstract away kit, to compliment the classic colour scheme.

Meanwhile, the Bayern Munich home kit [Footyheadlines] might give an idea of what’s being planned for the Hoops. While the German giants have been more flexible with their home kits, the different sizes of stripes are an interesting departure for the Bavarians.

Manchester United, though, have a more straight-forward away kit [Footyheadlines], that has more in common with previous Celtic Adidas efforts. Strong, bold colours, without much in the way of pattern.

Celtic supporters have shown major enthusiasm for Adidas thus far; 22-23 is unlikely to be different

I mean, either way; it’s a Celtic shirt, right? Adidas would need to put out something legitimately abhorrent for it not to be seen in the terraces next season.

Still, barring the third kit, Adidas haven’t strayed far from the beaten path when it’s come to their Celtic offerings. That’s not a bad thing. With colours so iconic, the temptation to mess around too much is minimal. Look at the emerald green away kit, for example; it stands out, while being simple.

You never know though. Certainly, a return to the black and gold would go down a treat. Umbro, famously, put out the Black Magic kit for the 03-04 season, and it remains a popular kit. New Balance had a similar effort in the 16-17 season, although it didn’t quite resonate in the same way.

Pink would be a bold choice, but a paler version as opposed to the more garish efforts we’ve seen, including the grey and pink abomination with a chevron (?!?!).

As far as it goes; the bumblebee kit or a simple yellow and green away effort would do this writer fine.

But if Adidas want to get weird with it for Celtic’s away kits? We won’t stop them.
