Celtic and Aberdeen have had plenty of crossover throughout the years.
The two meet at Pittodrie this weekend as Brendan Rodgers’ side look to make it back-to-back wins following the late win against St Mirren.
Luke McCowan was named in the team of the week after his late winner and could push for a start after Benjamin Nygren failed to reach the levels he had shown in pre-season.
Over the years there have been players who have worn the colours of both teams but for one Celtic legend, he does have one regret about his time at Aberdeen.

Scott Brown admitted that he should’ve retired from playing after leaving Celtic
Scott Brown is best known for his time at Celtic but actually ended his career at Aberdeen.
As a 36-year-old, Brown left Celtic Park in 2021 and spent one season with the Dons as a player-coach before hanging up the boots.
In October 2024, Brown spoke on the Let’s Be Frank podcast where he admitted that he made a mistake to continue his playing days.
He said: “Should I have retired? Maybe I probably should have but I went up to Aberdeen to try to learn and to have an understanding and because Glassy was there.
“I probably shouldn’t have done the playing coach.
“I should probably have just done more of the coaching and having that understanding because it was a great experience for me.”
The reason why Scott Brown chose to leave Celtic
When Brown left, many were left shocked after he chose not to end his career in Glasgow.
It was a choice made by the midfielder himself, who admitted that the managerial situation at the time meant he couldn’t fully commit.
“I got offered another year at Celtic, it was a hard situation because it would have to [have meant] sitting and waiting until the end of the season to see who comes in,” he said to Sky Sports in 2021.
“To have that fresh start with someone who I trust and respect fully, and maybe sit in at Celtic until the end of the season not sure what to do or who is coming in… that played on my mind as well.
“I’ve got to look at the selfish point of view as well. I can’t just go in the dressing-room and believe that I’m the guy to play football. Aberdeen offered me a two-year deal and it was an offer that I couldn’t turn down.”
